Sri Radhasakhi! You are the highest in the extreme austerity of penance for Sri Radha's companionship. Your only desire is to provide happiness to Sri Radha. You are filled with incomparable affection. You are the privileged one who is endowed with the fortune of serving the feet of Sri Radha as Her companion. I pay my respects to you

-Verse 82, Sri Radhasudhanidhi

11.12.2002,Guntur ashram

Nanna was speaking about higher meditation. Emphasizing that Sri Radha, who was worshipped by Lord Krishna himself, is our deity of dhyana, Nanna described the stature provided to him by Mother.

" Who decorates a little girl? She asked me to apply oil to Her. Who can apply oil to a girl? "

Only an intimate female companion can do so Nanna

" I adorn Her with a saree. Who can do it? "

Only an intimate female companion, Nanna.

" That's it! No ordinary persons can apply oil to Mother. I may hesitate. That's why She physically came and stood beside me. She actually came near me with a physical body. 'Who are you?' She asked me. I did not speak about this masculine body. I replied, " I am a girl about 11 years old". She left soon after."

" Probably by that time, my appearance had transformed from within. This incident took place many years ago implying that this change began right from that time. She has been planning and indicating that I am a Sakhi. See how subtle Her leela is!"

Nanna went into a state of Radha dhyana.

Sri Radha, the Sovereign of Rasaloka Herself frequently visits Radhasakhi - our Nanna, our guide, our Guru, our God.

We (I and Sriranga) went to Nanna at 4 A.M. on 12.12.2002. Nanna woke up at 3.30 A.M., got the lights switched on and sat ready for meditation. Generally, whenever we visit him, we go with flowers or fruits. That day we went without anything. As soon as he saw us, he stretched out his hands for our offering. We felt ashamed for going empty handed. Sriranga murmured 'Nanna, Nanna'. I was absolutely blank.

" Yes. You must bring something. The poor Kuchela borrowed a bundle of rice to offer to Lord Krishna. While Kuchela was washing his feet, Krishna was looking at the bundle only. Finally he took the bundle to see what he was hiding. I too desire that you should bring something………"

Nanna remained silent for a while.

Ah Nanna! You are so kind to all of us. Krishna accepted a few rice grains from Kuchela and blessed him. By reminding us of this, you have clearly indicated that however little we offer to you, it will be transformed into enormous wealth of Radha bhakti.

Whatever anyone gives, Nanna accepts with both hands stretched out. In that precious holy moment, we become his. He eats very little of what we give, not for his sake but for ours. Nanna's efforts are always directed towards our well-being!

Nanna talked about higher meditation.

" God is invisible. He is beyond sense organs and also the mind. Vedas say "Yato Vacho Nivartante aprapya manasa saha". Neither your words nor even mind can reach him. Then who can serve God who cannot be reached even by the mind? It is not possible. You can never realize God. God will not grant his darshan even after ages of penance. Vedas also say "Nayamatma Pravachanena labhyaha" -Paramatma (the highest soul) cannot be attained with spiritual talks and penance. "Na medhaya…..". You have studied Vedas and understood their meaning. You also have a good knowledge of science. So you must know that God cannot be seen by you; He must accept you. That is the reality! There are several nuances of God's grace. First Roopa darsanam Second Tattwa darsanam Third Leela darsanam Fourth Anugraha darsanam Anugraha darsanam implies that God bestows his grace completely and takes the human being near him. "Yagnanam japa yagnosmi" "Ananyaschinta yanto mam yejanah paryupasate teshyam nityabhiyuktanam yogakshemam vahamyaham" "Dhyanena atmani pasyante" Geeta has stated the above three steps to attain the grace of God. There is a fourth step in Radha tattva. But I will not talk about it now. Infact I may never mention it. This fourth step is very significant. Mother may grant it to one in a million! This is not mentioned in any scriptures, Geeta or Vedas. A few desired to know about this fourth principle. Mother must give permission… It cannot be found anywhere else; it is very difficult. "

Nanna said with a voice choked with emotion and paused.

" I have talked about the three principles mentioned in Gita. The fourth is not superficially apparent. I will hand it over imperceptibly. Mother must bless you. Your penance, your dhyana and your books - all these are worthless. God cannot be attained with penance, rituals or dhyana. There are so many examples which show that God cannot be attained even with dhyana. At the most, he will show a leela in your dhyana; nothing more. You may be satisfied that you have atleast got one blessing. But this is not sufficient. Seeing a leela is not enough; one should go near him, gain the wealth of his divine quality, obtain his cooperation, become a member of his family and be so closely attached that you feel "You are me and I am you". Hanuman is one among those few who attained this stage. His service is extra ordinary. When he slit open his heart, Lord Rama and Sita were present there. Hanuman said "They cannot live without me". He is the only devotee who said that 'God cannot live if he does not see me'. That sentence is so noteworthy. That path is so dee….p. That is very different; that is the fourth step. At this stage fourth step is not needed; the first three are enough "

Nanna said that Hanuman is the only devotee who said that God couldn't live without him. But Nanna, the intimate, confidential Sakhi of Sri Radha uttered a more significant sentence on 10.12.2001.

" Just as I am unable to stay away from Her, Mother is also not able to stay without me. She was in a dilemma whether to choose between 'Loka Kalyanam' and Swakalyanam' (welfare of the world and Herself). She may decide that 'I want my belonging' and call me back anytime. "

What great sentences they are! What is Nanna's stature? Mother being in a dilemma! Radha Mahadevi - Sovereign of the world of Rasa, the Supernatural Goddess worshipped even by Lord Krishna to be in a dilemma! That means… what an intimate, inseparable sakhi Nanna might have been!

" Some feel that it is enough if God gives them a darshan of his leela. Many in Brindavan wish to play a part in his 'Rasa leela'. Infact most of them pray for a part in his divine play so that they can sing and dance with him. Some devotes desire to be at least a small weed in his garden. But there are very few who become inseparably attached to him and delve into the secret of the greatest secret "

Ah! See the depth of Nanna's love. He explained the three ways of obtaining God's grace that are mentioned in Geeta. He added that 'there is a fourth way in Radha tattva which he will not speak about, now or ever'. But he is full of love and kindness. So, he hinted in the middle of his talk that 'the fourth is not apparent outwardly. I will hand it over imperceptibly.

You should go near him, gain the wealth of his divine quality…… be so closely attached that you feel 'You are me and I am you'." Saying this, he diverted the discussion towards Hanuman. Yet in those few words, Nanna revealed the depth of Radha tattva - the secret of the great secret. So, what is the forth principle which is not mentioned in the Geeta? We must go directly to Mother's kingdom; we must obtain the wealth of Her divine quality. We must reach the state when we feel 'You are me and I am You.' This is the fourth principle in Radha Tattva. How can we reach this state? When we become Sakhis in Sakhi's path and attain Radha bhava, Mother will bestow Her grace on us. This is the only way. Nanna said that any amount of penance or writing any number of books couldn't fetch Mother.

As a Radhasakhi, Nanna told us what is 'Sakhi Marg' ; showed us how to become a Sakhi and how to pray to Radhaji. He attained that secret of the secrets. Even though he refused to do so, he took us into his heart and showed us the depth of Sakhi bhava. He preached the royal path of Rasa to reach that Mother, who is unattainable even to Brahma and other Gods.

" We must have a darshan of this Radhaji. We must take part in Her leelas. We should become intimate to Her. We should feel that we couldn't live without Her. This is our ultimate goal. We must reach the state when we feel 'I cannot live without Mother'. That is the real yearning. The real call of yearning means 'I cannot live without you' "

" The yearning of devotees is very sensitive. The yearning of worldly attached human beings is different from that of the devotees. Mother sees the depth of our love. She is not bothered about external appearance and behaviour. She does not even see our weeping. She sees the inner depth. Therefore, our dhyana yoga should come from the inner depth. External appearances or where we sit are irrelevant matters. Your yearning should be intense and profound. Your devotion should be in solitude. Your penance need not have any show. Go deep within you. The deeper you go, the better."

" No one should know that you are a devotee. Ramakrishna Pramahamsa cleaned the toilets of the scavengers. He concealed the Mother shining within him. In the same way, hide Her in your heart. You may talk about Her, but conceal the real Mother within you. Don't discuss much about that."

" Suppose I wear a wristwatch, a white patch can be seen when I remove it. If the skin is covered it appears white, otherwise black. We must create a covering for Mother also. We must place Her in our heart and not reveal to anyone. Once a devotee Kalavati arranged a grand celebration and dinner. When her husband asked the reason for celebration she said, 'you blame God externally but pray to him in your heart. I realized this just now. So I am celebrating with that happiness'. The husband wailed 'you have revealed my secret; how can I live now?' and collapsed. Such secrecy must be maintained. Even today some people are so secretive that no one knows what is hiddn within them. You too should conceal certain matters within you."

" You may give lectures about God but conceal the Mother whom you worship within you. Pray within you. Do not discuss with anyone regarding how you worship Her. Don't feel that you should project yourself greatly in front of the world. Even if the whole world praises you, it is of no use; Mother should praise you. The world cannot do you any good although it praises you. Mother alone will uplift you. She is present here this moment but cannot be seen or heard. She is invisible. We should also keep Mother carefully and secretly. "

" One must have three qualities to go near Mother: First quality:- Your life should be dedicated to Mother. Your life is not meant for your children or for others. You are living only for Mother. You should be ready to leave this world and go with Her the very moment She calls you. Second quality:- Brindavan is the place where Mother is present. So you must also be in Brindavan. Even the trees speak there. They have that power. Once Brindadevi came from Radha Kund. When Mother asked her what brought her there she replied 'Krishna is dancing on the bank of Radha Kund. In whichever direction the tree sways, he is also swaying in that direction and dancing. It is so strange'. This is a great leela. The tree is teaching dance to Krishna. The tree is Mother Herself! She concealed this fact. She took the form of a tree and taught Krishna every posture! No one is aware that Mother is the embodiment of Jagadguru (Guru of the Universe). She is the Guru of even Krishna. She has expertise in 64 arts, each being greater and unique than the other. Even if we possess two or three of them, we can become great scholars. Mother is the Master of 64 arts and this is one of them. With her divine resolution, she took the form of a tree and taught dance to Krishna. Those who wish to go to Mother's presence must learn music, poetry and dance. They should learn the art of using apt words and speaking fluently. Mother is pleased by these arts. It is impossible for us to learn all 64 arts. They belong only to Her. Radha is so great. We are fortunate to serve such a Mother. She showed me some unique arts, really exclusive ones. "

Thus Nanna told about two qualities necessary to obtain Radha's grace.

What unique arts Mother might have shown Her confidential Sakhi! Though he was seeing such unique arts of Radha, he restrained himself from drowning in that ocean of Rasa. for our sake and strived for our welfare.

Nanna said that we should have sublime devotion towards Mother. "Talk about Her but conceal the real Mother within you". "Even today some people are secretive. Nobody knows what lies within them."

What does hiding Mother within us mean? What should be kept a secret? Nanna said that while meditating on Mother continuously, She would grant some unique experiences. Some of these should be expressed aloud, while some should be kept confidential. Mother and the experiences, both should be concealed within you. Nanna spoke these words only for the benefit of the devotees.

'Some people are secretive even today. No one knows what lies within them' Nanna said. Who else has constant contact with Radhaji like him? Though he revealed so many secrets of Rasa how many more rare, unique and valuable secrets are hidden in that vast ocean of Rasa! Who knows how much sweetness of Rasa he enjoyed within him secretly? We do not know either his inner tattva or divine form. What little we know about him is also due to his grace only!

" You should be ready to leave the very moment Mother calls you "

It is appropriate to recall Nanna's words spoken once earlier.

" Both these ashrams are very great. But when compared to Mother, they are small. For Her sake, I will give them up in a moment "

We wonder what unique aspects Nanna saw in Sri Radha's kingdom of Rasa! He attained the peak stage of Rasa, the secret of the secret, where he feels 'You are me and I am you'. What a divine state he should be enjoying! How many times we would have disturbed Nanna while he was experiencing utmost bliss of Rasa. Yet he had never showed irritation even once. He always responded with the same love and patience………..Nanna !
