DIVINE RASA

'Radha roopa rasa pravaha . dhyayami Radha sakhim'
----

Radha sakhi's bhava flows like stream of rasa. Radhasakhi's life exhibits the inner secrets of Radha bhava. Radhasakhi's seva is the only sadhana to attain Radha's love and rasa. I do dhyana on such a Radhasakhi who has entry into Sri Radha nikunj all the time.

Nanna gave a series of speeches on dhyana yoga for 25 days in Guntur ashram, without any interruption. On the last day, 08.09.02, Nanna commented on the last song composed by him while Anjani amma sang the song 'Na prana pranama Sri Krishna roopama....'

" Krishna does not exist at all! Even his form merged into Mother You all are sakhis. Our life force is none other than Mother. As long as Mother does not leave us, we will not forget Her. So we must pray that we should never forget Her. The proof that we are alive is our life force. She is that life force! If we forget Her, we are as good as dead! Hence we must always pray to Her - 'Mother, You are my life force. Please be with me always.' "

" She came down to earth from the higher world alone as a three year old girl. She has no parents. We are Her relatives. So far, no other God came down to earth like Her. Generally we worship God with respect. Mother is our dearest sakhi. You can share everything with a sakhi. When Goddess Sita was weeping in Ashoka forest, Hanuman went to see her. Many are not aware that Hanuman is not a male, he is a sakhi. Though he is a male for us, he is really Sita's sakhi, Charumati. Sita shared her feelings with Hanuman. 'Sakhi, have you come to see me. See how the demon Kakasura tortured me physically'. Hanuman began to weep. 'I will kill that demon.' (Nanna was also weeping as he narrated this incident). Sita shared her secret only with her sakhi. We are Mother's children. We must express all our feelings to Her. Do not hide anything from Her. You must share each and every secret with Her. "

" Mother, since I cannot be present with you physically, let me be near You always like Your shadow. Please give me such an opportunity. "

" Mother became Radha because She is worshipped by Krishna. Nobody named Her as Radha. Lord Vishnu and Narayana cannot perform some tasks. Krishna can only guide in some tasks. But there is no such task that Radha cannot accomplish. Brahmavaivartha purana states that when his consort Sati Devi was burst into ashes, Lord Shiva (Mahadev) declared that he would destroy all the 14 worlds if his Sati is not handed over to him in her original form. Nobody could do so. Only Radha gave his consort back to him. When nobody else could do anything, Mother alone controlled the situation. "

" Mother indicates every Krishna leela in advance. She sows the seed and Krishna enacts the leela. Radha is the origin of innumerable Krishna leelas. "

" When you do dhyana at home, you may experience the fragrance of roses. Then you must realize Mother's presence. When a flower drops involuntarily, you must understand that Mother came. Mother loves roses. That is why the poet (Nanna himself) says that he is Her rose; Her dearest sakhi. "

Anjani amma sang 'Sri Shyama Shyam Sri Brindavanadham Sri Radhika priyasakhi hamaro pranam' 'Jai Jai Sri Radhe'. We all prostrated before Radhasakhi in respect. In a state of bhava, he once said..

" This is my last song on this earth. I will dedicate the song to Her when I go to Her dham. Sakhi will sing, dance, embrace Mother and swoon in ecstasy. "

We are indeed fortunate to have Nanna who said as our Rasa guru..

" My heart is present in this song. "

In January 1995, Nanna gave speeches for one week. The following conversation with the devotees was made on one of those days.

" Was anybody else in Guntur town commemorated like I was? It is your affection towards me. I can quote many examples like this. There is no need. My Mother came. That is why I am happy. "

'Nanna, Please tell about rasa.'

" Even Krishna does not have authority to begin ras leela. Did you know about this? The Vedas also tell that Krishna cannot begin ras. I saw this. He must come near Her, apply the dust near Her feet on his forehead and request Her to begin ras. She must begin ras, not he! He has no authority. Rasa takes place in Brindavan every day. When ras leela is enacted on stage, it is depicted that Krishna requests Mother to begin ras. She is seated on the throne while he stands in front of Her. "

'How to serve Mother? You spoke about bhava deha and sakhi bhava ...'

" Even Chaitanya did not attain that state. I reached that state. Not even a single devotee does sadhana and dhyana which is necessary to reach that state. That sadhana is rasopasana. You must note that it is not referred as Ramopasana, Krishnopasana or Hanumadopasana. No persons or forms must be present. Though Rama and Krishna are divine incarnations, they are still human beings! Such unique devotees will not worship persons. They do not want God. They want only God's rasa. If I will give you only the skin and seed of a ripe mango and keep the succulent juice for myself, does it have any value? In the same way, God is the fruit. The devotees buy the fruit only for juice and not for seed and skin. That is why they say they want God's rasa only and not God. They have clearly distinguished what they want. Unless you go on the path of rasopasana, you cannot go near Mother. Just dhyana will not take you near Her. "

" How to understand rasopasana? It is very difficult. You need Mother's permission. Otherwise if you stay near devotees, you may attain it after some time. The devotees who seek rasa are known as rasikas; ordinary devotees are bhaktas! Mother stated that when the Bhagawata was being preached to king Parikshit, there was not a single rasika in the gathering of thousands of devotees. That is why She was not present there. Vedavyasa is not a rasika but Srisuka is. Nobody is aware of the truth. Two days prior to description of maharasa, Mother told Srisuka 'you must not mention about Me or My eight sakhis in your talk or your book (Bhagawata) because not a single rasika is present in the gathering.' "

" When somebody gives up everything in search of God, he will become sanyasi, a monk but not a rasika. The Lord will grant him moksha. "

" 'Sarvadharman ... ma suchah' . When someone gives up all dharmas, becomes a sanyasi and surrenders to Krishna that 'I have nobody else except you', then he grants them moksha. That's all. He does not have authority to grant higher than moksha. Granting bhava is not in his hands. "

" One poet described Radha and Krishna as husband and wife. I told him to stop his speeches from the very next day because he was committing a grave sin which would affect not only him but also the listeners! "

" She is worshipped by Krishna. That is why She is Radha. How can She be his wife? Those who think like that are ignorant fools. Lord Brahma did tapasya for 6000 years before he got permission to celebrate their wedding! What kind of wedding would that be? Can it be mundane, physically tying the nuptial knot as it happens on earth? Certainly notI Why should Brahma do such severe penance to celebrate a mundane insignificant ceremony? Does anybody know about their divine wedlock? Brahma is the deity of the sanyasis who gave up everything in this world. Then how can such a Brahma do penance to celebrate a wedding that has physical intimacy? "

" Brahma has no worldly body. Then what can he celebrate? There are no bodies here. By his penance, he had a vision of Radha and Krishna in a divine leela. "

" Krishna gave up everything and surrendered to Her. Will any husband on earth surrender to his wife? "

" Some people came to see me four days back. I told them about Radha and said why they should go somewhere else when the highest power is here. Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Ramana maharishi did not move anywhere. Vivekananda lectured everywhere as a disciple. Ramakrishna never went out. That is mystic love. I do not want material love where the target is husband or wife or son. My target is not material because Mother is not material object. She is super sansarik. (Beyond materialistic world). Her love shown to me is mystic. You can't see me. I have no object as my target. Worldly things and people cannot satisfy me. That is the mystery. When your love crosses the borders of Prakrithi ... "

Nanna could not speak further as he went into a state of complete bhava. It is not surprising that the divine relationship of Radha and Krishna is not well known, particularly in south India. It is a sin to attach any material bhava towards the divine duo, who are the embodiment of rasa.

It is essential to recall what Nanna spoke in 2002 on the occasion of Radhashtami.

" The rasa tattwa came down to earth as two forms - Radha and Krishna. Brahma yearned to see the oneness of the Divine Duo. He did penance for 6000 years. Then he was granted the vision of their form in oneness. That is their divine wedlock. The one rasa tattwa - Sri Radha and Krishna do not have the institution of wedding at all! They are neither wedded couple nor lovers. In fact they are not two entities; they are only one. "

Nanna could not even bear the thought of wedding for the rasa tattwa. Seeing their rasa form every moment, it is indeed not possible for him to accept any material relationship between Radha and Krishna. That is why he strongly commented 'Brahma who has no material body celebrating the wedding of Radha and Krishna, who also do not have material body!'

Saying that Krishna surrendered completely to Radhaji, Nanna went into bhava. Glowing in his original sakhi state, he spoke about the pandit who came to see him from Puri. He declared that his target is none other than Radhaji who is beyond the material world. By saying 'You can't see me', he clarified who he is!

The Radhika tapa Upanishad says that Radha and Krishna are one. Krishna is the ocean of rasa while Radha is the sovereign of rasa. Their form is one ocean of rasa
