Jaya & Vijaya (Continued ..)

Fre Leaving this Abode both of you will suffer for seven births in the lower worlds ridden with anger, lust and sinfulness." Sometime before the occurrence of this incident egoistic Jaya and Vijaya did even obstruct Mother Lakshmi, when she was about to meet Swamy after protecting the devotees with Her Vaishnavi Shakthi. "I can go and stay with Swami anytime. I have everyright. Is it these mean beings who should stop me ? Thus, Mother felt painful by their act. In fact both of them lost their powers, the moment they insulted Mother Lakshmi. Later, they went on to despise Sanaka and Sanandana. At about the same time Lord Mahavishnu appeared there. After beholding the Lord, Jaya and Vijaya broke into tears as they perceived their inferior state. Sympathised with them the swamy reduced the curse to 'three births'. Later Jaya and Vijaya born as demons Hiranyakasha, Hiranyakasipa, Ravana Kumbha Karna and Sisupala, Danta Vakthra on the earth. |
Now, it is evident from the story of Jaya and Vijaya that one should not insult Great souls or sacred books. Such acts will only lead to deep sinfulness and engender spontaneous punishment. This is an inexorable rule of Dharma. |

One can only worship the Divine Mother only in the state of inwardness. It is impossible to feel the presence of Mother outward.

As long as the jeeva remained outward, he could not see the Divine. Brahmaji could not find his father inspite of arduous outward search of one thousand years. At last, says the Bhagawatha, that Brahmaji upon hearing Divine instruction 'Tapa'..... 'Tapa', meditated for one hundred years inwardly (adopting a yogic practice - Ashtanga yogakriya- nurakthi) and with the grace of Higher Divine had the Divya Darsan of his Father Purushothama.. |
The scriptures enunciate that whoever tread the path of Divinity with inwardness will reach the Lotus Feet of the Lord. But the outward man, as he continues to experience the pleasures offered by Prakrithi, only entangles himelf to Prakrithi (nature) of Three 'Gunas'. He eventually debases himself to shortened longevity, lower births and many other sufferings. |
