Sarweswari Sri Radha Devi

2. Sri Radhadevi's Hladini Shakthi (Power of Divine Ecstacy) and its Omnipotence (Continued..)

Naravahan had a good network of spies under his command. He often sent them in different directions to obtain secret information. His spies were returning back and submitting him the information they had obtained. But soon he found that three spies sent inthe direction of 'Madan Ter' did not return. His generals conveyed him that a saint known as 'Harivamsa' was residing at 'Madan Ter'. All the three spies sent in that direction were transformed into devotees of Harivamsa and later expressed their inability to report back to the King. (Naravahan). After sometime similar incident again took place. Naravahan got enraged. He declared that he would personally go to 'Madan Ter and meet Harivamsa' to checkout and test his powers.

When Narawahan was about to reach the Ashram of Harivamsa, he found a devotee by name 'Naharmal' weeping inconsolably. Naravahan enquired nearby people" Why he is weeping so much, why Harivamsa has trotured him to cruelly" But the people informed him "Saint Harivamsa is extremely pious. Everday he offers 'Bhog' (food offering) to Radha Rani. He walks into the forest many miles to bring in fuel wood for preparing the Bohg to Sriji. His devotion for Sri Radhaji has indeed transformed your associates as staunch devotees". And they went on to say further," one day an affluent devotee Naharmal asked Sri Harivamsa, 'Swami why do you toil so much ? Why do you personally carry all this fire wood from so long distance? "I will arrange for two servants tomorrow itself" Hari Vamsaji immediately replied looking at him sharply, "What a decline in you ! Naharmal, what a fall in your devotion ! Sri Radhaji is my wealth. She is my life. She is my everything. Do I need servants to serve Her ? Naharmal, Don't enter into the Ashram again. yor Don't show me your face. This is my order". On hearing the resolute voice of the Guru this Naharmal started weeping inconsolably. Since that day he has been lonudly uttering 'He Probho, Please condone my blunder. I will serve Sriji with my body, mind and soul and dedicate myself to Her Service. Oh ! Lord forgive me. What I have to do with unstable physical pleasures. Yielding to worldy pleasures I forgot that I had come only for the service of Divine and got myself distanced from Sriji". The people told Naravahan that he had not taken any food nor slept a single moment since that incident.

As soon as Naravahan listened to the singleminded and extraordinary devotion of Harivamsaji he felt an indescribable Divine Shakthi was passing through his body and mind. A new change had taken place in his life. Between these two happenings entered the Grace of Sri Radhaji.

Hari Vamsaji told Naravahan about Radhaji. He also described him the sacred lives of Rasika Mahatmas. (enlightened devotees of Radhaji) Further he graced him with the vision of 'Man Brindavan' Leela (plays of Sriji in the transcandetal plane). The power and compassion of Radhaji melted the stony heart of Naravahan. He wept incessantly remembering the atrocites that he committed for so long time. A great wave of Vairagya (stoicism) upwelled from Naravahan's heart and transmuted him into a Yogi. Shedding tears of love, Naravahan used to meditate under a tree day and night. This is the 'Lokakalyana' Leela of Radhaji. The author of this book once visited this sacred place - Madan Ter, and experienced Divine Ecstacy.

Harivamsa Prabhu himself got amazed at the intense devotion and service of Naravahan and even dedicated 'two verses' in his famous book 'Hithachourasi'. Hita Chaurasi has been the most important book for the devotees of Radha Vallabha tradition.
