WEEP IN YOUR HEART

5.12.2002, Guntur ashram

At 9 a.m. Anjani amma and a devotee (Ramakkaa) were sitting near Nanna while he was singing the new song composed by him. He was finalising a tune for the song saying that one must have knowledge of music and bhave to tune a song.

" I am a poet, a musician and I have bhava. "

Anjani amma jested that he has the fourth aspect of dance too! Nanna set the tune based on an old film song where the heroine surrenders her life for her husband. He shed tears as he recalled her emotions. He felt that this tune will be apt for bhava to touch the singer and listener.

" Don't see the definition of sakhi. You must emphasise on sakhi's qualities. That is important. Radhaji lived as a sakhi too. You must explain the life of a sakhi. "

" On Krishnashtami day, so many people visit Brindavan. Among that huge crowd, a sadhu was sitting near a tree and weeping. Nobody bothered about him. Each one was engrossed in bathing and visiting temples. A nine year old girl came near him and asked 'Baba. Why are you crying? What do you want?' "My child. Among so many people present here, not a single person cared for me. They are thinking of their bath and prayer. Who are You? You are such a small girl. You came to enquire about me.' He started weeping. She pointed to the house of a Bengali sadhu and asked him to go there. This is a typical example of sakhi bhava. "

'There is a similar incident depicting sakhi bhava in Nanna's life also' Anjani amma said.

" That is sakhi tattwa. Mother showed Her love and affection on the helpless man. "

'This incident took place in 1962. When Nanna and Radhamahalaxmi amma went to Brindavan, they saw a Bengali man suffering from stomach pain. They immediately admitted him in Ramakrishna Mission hospital, arranged for his appendicitis operation, fed him bread and milk and also bought him medicines. They both helped him with sakhi bhava.' Anjani amma said.

" That is sakhi bhava. You must eagerly wait to help others. That is Mother's nature. She eagerly waits to bless Her devotees. Unless you mention about this quality, the book on sakhi is not complete. "

" The Vedas said She is Bhaktanugrahakatara. This is an important qualification of Mother. She is eagerly waiting to bless Her devotees. While She was waiting in this way, She saw the sadhu. She went near him and lovingly asked why he was weeping. He told Her his problems and She solved them. Mother is not interested in crowds of devotees bathing or praying in temples. Do not restrict yourself to temples and pilgrimages. The important aspect of sakhi bhava is to look out eagerly and notice if somebody is in trouble and needs help. When we saw the Bengali crying with stomach pain, nobody was paying heed to him. We took him to the hospital and paid the operation expenses. He became normal after the operation. When we went to see him, he said 'I am remembering Radha Rani when I see you.' That is Her nature! Did you include this aspect and elaborate with examples? Don't write theory only. You must elucidate every point with examples. Then only the reader will feel 'Ah, this is the life of a sakhi!' The reader wants only sakhi's nature; he is not interested if it is rasa or bhava. "

I aspired to write a book on Nanna's sakhi life. I prayed to grant me the opportunity and capacity to write this book. During his conversations, he mentioned many relevant points about sakhi's nature and also narrated some divine incidents. Radhasakhi was present in all these incidents. Speaking about Bhaktanugrahakatara, he narrated similar incidents in Radhaji's life and his life also. He clarified that sakhi's life must not be based on theory; it must be filled with Radhaji's love.

'Nanna, did Mother depict sakhi bhava in this incident?'

" She is a true sakhi. "

'She did more like a sakhi than a Sovereign..'

" Those are small things. Her status as Sovereign of all worlds does not matter. That greatness is different. It is 'aishwarya' -majeatic. That is not sakhi aspect. Don't highlight the majestic aspect in me; develop the sakhi aspect only. "

Nanna clearly indicated that both the aspects, majestic and sakhi are shining in him and he is inclined towards sakhi aspect. Majestic aspect signifies authority, projecting importance. Radhasakhi who has the power to rule all the worlds does not like to assert her authority. Nanna's nature is to transform the man by his love and not authority. We can see this in every incident of his life. There is an underlying flow of love. This is the hidden meaning of his words 'don't highlight the majestic aspect in me; develop the sakhi aspect only.' In the sakhi aspect, we have seen dasya, vatsalya and madhurya (servility, affection and sweetness) aspects also.

'Nanna, we can mention another incident when Mother became a sakhi and wanted Her sakhis also to experience the bliss of Krishna..'

" This is one of incidents in Ashtayami leelas. Once when Mother was bathing in the river, Krishna came there. He began to weep 'I will die if I don't see Mother. I must see Her.' The sakhis obstructed him saying that She is bathing and he cannot go near Her. When he began to weep uncontrollably, Mother heard him. She asked one of Her sakhis to find out who was weeping and why. The sakhi returned and said 'Krishna is weeping.' 'Why?' 'He wants to see You.' 'Oh, That's all. Let him become a sakhi and come near me.' Only when Krishna became a sakhi, he was allowed to enter. Mother raised Her hands and embraced Krishna who was in sakhi form. That is sakhi bhava. The book must have such examples.. "

'Nanna, I wrote about this incident but not with the depth you mentioned.'

" You must write with that depth. Otherwise there will be no impact. "

'This incident did not come out so wonderfully when I wrote it.'

" It must be wonderful. You must give more emphasis on bhava. Otherwise it will not touch the heart. The human being has a worldly and rough heart. How did you find what I narrated? "

'Mother showered Her sakhi love on Krishna. He became a sakhi and came near Her.'

" She asked him to come as a sakhi. She did not send him away because She was bathing. She showed him a way to come near Her. "

" In another incident, She sends Her sakhis near Krishna to experience his love. He was moved. 'That love is blissful and indescribable. She gains happiness by sending Her sakhis near me without thinking of Her own happiness. "

" Yet another incident. Once Mother was strolling with Her sakhis. A Gujarati person was beating his chest and weeping, crying out loudly 'Kishori Kishori.' Mother sent Her sakhis to fetch him. They briught him near Her. 'Why are you weeping?' 'My wife is dead.' 'Your wife is in your mind. I am in your heart. Think of Me and stop weeping for her.' He thought of Her in his heart and dropped dead. That's what happened! He died! "

" We weep with the mind most of the time. We rarely weep with the heart. Mother will come when you weep with the heart. I have written this point in one of my songs. 'My heart is filled with You and You only.' You must emphasise that sakhis see with their heart and not their eyes. Sakhi tattwa is tattwa of the heart. "

'A book by Poddar titled Premodgar...'

" Another important point. Sakhi cannot live without Mother. (Nanna was weeping). She will think only about Mother and weep. That bhava must be attained. Then only she is a sakhi. Only one in a million will attain such bhava. The size of the book is not important, that bhava must be attained. There may be one or two relevant points in your whole book; the rest may be unnecessary. "

'Ramesh Baba came to see this sakhi. He was overjoyed and went into bhava. He gave a pink silk saree to Mother. He told that he read about Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamasa but actually saw Nanna in that bhava. He saw that loving nature, that yearning for Mother..', Anjani amma said.

" He said he saw sakhi's nature. Ramakrishna also considered Goddess Kali as a sakhi. "

'Is that so, Nanna?'

" Yes. He did not consider Her as Mother when he wept 'I cannot live without you, my beloved.' What is that bhava? She held his hand and said 'Don't take your life, my son. Why are you weeping? Can I live without you? I also cannot live without you. I am near you only.' Mother Kali said these words in sakhi bhava. "

'Yadbhavo tadbhavathi.'

" Sakhi bhava is not restricted to Brindavan or to women only. "

'Nanna. You said that worsipping with sakhi bhava is found only in the path of rasa.'

" Yes. It is found only when you practice rasa. "

'Then did Ramakrishna follow rasa?'

" Though they don't call it as rasa, that is what actually happens. "

'He did not go to depth...'

'Without rasa, sakhi bhava cannot be attained.'

" This is only in theory, not in practice. Rasa is not visible. That is what Ramesh Baba said. 'We read that Ramakrishna was continuously weeping but never understood what it means. Today we practically saw what we tread.' "

'Ramesh Baba visit to see Nanna is also surprising. We went and invited him once. The next time he came on his own with a pink saree. Nanna and Mother are fond of pink! How amazing!'

" Colour is a minor point. He.. "

'The incidents in Vedadri and Ravali are also significant. Nanna said that those miracles really happened.' Anjani amma said.

" You can narrate the incident about Mother and the rose bud in the garden. It is a unique expression of sakhi bhava. "

'You told this incident when I was reading out the book...'

" It came out at one time. But that only is not my life. Mother will give something this time and something else next time. A sakhi gets innumerable bhavas. "

'Yes Nanna. You said that this is manifested leela. She showed this much. There is much more which is not manifested.'

" Yes, there is so much more.. "

'Nanna explained a leela that day. He said that the vision showing him applying sandalwood paste to Her hands is the manifested leela; his applying sandalwood paste to Her body is unmanifested leela.'

" Even Krishna should not see that unmanifested leela. That is why he is the background, not in the front. Krishna was not a participant in the sakhi leela. You must develop on this further, why is he standing in the background? The sakhi is in front applying sandalwood paste to Her while he is behind Her. "

'Even in the vision on September 11 .., a five year old emerged fro Mother's idol and another 5 year old girl emerged from Nanna. Both were wearing similar clothes and ornaments. The face of the girl who emerged was round while the face of the girl who emerged from Nanna was long. Both were dancing together. At 3.45 a.m. I woke up and saw that Nanna's hands were in a dance pose. He was in that posture for almost 15 minutes. I sat at a distance watching him because I did not want to disturb his bhava. When Nanna moved at 4 a.m., I told about my vision.' Anjani amma said.

'Amma, were Nanna's hands in adance pose for 15 minutes?'

'Yes, it is very surprising. Then I thought that since Mother's birthday is on September 14th, She came in advance to play with Her sakhi.'

In fact, that day was Rishipanchami, Anjani amma's birthday. But she also did not remember at that time.

'Both were similarly dressed. I looked at them from head to toe. The vision ended at 3.45 a.m. I opened my eyes and saw Nanna's hands in a dance pose. I did not want to disturb him and interrupt the bliss of that bhava. When I told him about the vision, he smiled and said 'I don't know that tune. It was a tune, not song...'

'Amma, Nanna said the same when he did circumambulation of Nikunj. He said that he heard only a melodious tune, not any song.'

'That tune began with 'ni'. I was singing the tune but I do not know what it is! I was standing far away. There was nobody else.'

" Ramesh Baba came to our place and was astonished at the scene here. He cried out Mother and wept. He did not inderstand anything. "

'He had tears in his eyes.'

" He was thinking of something. I don't know what he saw. There are so many bhavas. These bhavas must be developed in the book. It is irrelevant whether it is rasa or bhava or both. Nobody will appreciate this aspect. They will consider it as madness. This bhava is beyond the reach of poets. "

Throughout this conversation, we felt as if Nanna was moving in Sri Radha's nikunj in his original sakhi form. Nanna often told the leela of Radhaji moving in the garden with Her skahis; observing a rose bud weeping; the bud blossoming when She put Her hand on it and Mother accepting the rose. Eacgh and everytime, we saw Nanna experiencing the touch of that bhava. He clearly declared that 'I am the rose accepted by Mother.' He also said 'that only is not my life. She gives something this time and something else next time. Sakhi has so amany bhavas. How many leelas there may be between Radha and Her sakhi! Even Krishna has no place in those leelas...Can we comprehend this? Nanna spoke about Anjani amma's vision on September 11, 2002 many times. That is the dance performed by Radhasakhi with Radha in rasa dham. Anjani amma is indeed blessed to have a vision of that divine dance!

Nanna described the emotions of bhava experienced by Ramesh Baba. When he came to the ashram, Nanna was totally immersed in bhava. He could not even utter Radhe. Nanna said that though he tried a lot, his lips moved but he could not utter Radha. What a divine vision Ramesh Baba had when he saw Nanna in this state! His eyes shedding tears and nose watering, he uttered 'Radhe' and fell. Nanna said that there are so many bhavas in a sakhi. It appears that he gave darshan to Ramesh Baba in his original sakhi form near Radhaji.

Nanna clearly instructed that sakhis life must be written with bhava. Discussions about rasa, bhava or both are redundant.

'Sakhi is one who sacrifices her happiness. Purushottam Goswami of Gowdimath enacted the leelas for the first time..'

Nanna suddenly began to speak about Shakespeare. Though it appears that the topic is diverted, he was in the same bhava throughout the time he spoke.

" Shakespeare's bhavas were beyond words. He threw an English book aside. Nobody understood why. He said that he did not want that language. He called English a useless language! Then only he adopted new grammar - Shakespearean grammar. "

Thus Nanna showed that bhava is beyond words.

'He would imagine himself in the character he created. He would go upstairs alone and act out the characters in his plays. His wife was the spectator. Only after he acted out the roles, he would portray them in the form of a book.'

" He never used ordinary English. He introduced Shakespearean grammar. "

'His English is known as Shakespearean English.'

" He became so great because his bhavas are genuine. I read most of his plays and also acted in 5-6 dramas. I also received a medal for acting in one drama. It was a very difficult role. The bhava of the role is very complicated. "

'Yesterday Nanna was listening to an old song where a wife totally surrenders to her husband. Though it is a movie song, Nanna totally went into bhava when he heard the song. A sanyasi who was presnt at that time started weeping. The devotee (Mahesh) who played that song said 'Nanna created a great bhava in this song. That is the difference between Nanna and us.'

Nanna attained this bhava even from worldly matters and enjoyed the bliss of rasa. No wonder the Mahatma said 'I will convert even an ordinary matter into a divine one.'

Speaking about Shakespearean plays, Nanna said:

" In one play, Antony and Cleopatra, the queen loves Antony. He too loves her. A middleman poisoned her mind against him. I played the role of Cleopatra. The middleman accused Antony of being a cheat and deceiver. She was enraged and asked him to be tied to the tail of a horse and dragged before her. When he was brought, he asked why he was being punished when he loved her sincerely. Finally she was killed by snakes. The role has romance, tragedy and bhava. The two snakes crawled on her breasts. In the last minute, she cried out loud and fell. (Nanna was weeping). The whole audience was crying loudly. The curtain was brought down. Her death is tragic. She holds the snake to her breast as if he was holding her, crying out Antony loudly. It is a very complicated play. I played the role successfully. The curtain drops as she thinks of Antony and falls down. Many people wept. I won a prize. That bhava must be experienced. "

'Yes Nanna. It must be experienced.'

Nanna is thorough with Shakespearean plays. As he spoke about his role in the play acted in 1918, he went into bhava. He was engrossed in the role and experienced that bhava as he spoke to us. When Cleopatra realised that Antony was not guilty, she declared death sentence for herself. Nanna could understand that divine love and romance even at that young age. When he said that the queen visualise the snake bite as her lover's touch, he too experienced the touch of that bhava. He portrayed the live characters before us. He made it clear that whether he speaks about worldly or spiritual matters, the touch of bhava is inevitable. That's why he said 'it must be experienced.'

Nanna continued to talk about the book on sakhi's life.

" You must include experiences. You are developing theory. Remove theory from the book. "

" That drama was staged in Rajamundry College. A couple watched the play. A European and hid wife was an Australian. His wife said 'I want to dress him. I want to kiss him.' He did not object. Even if he objected, she wouldn't care. She kissed me..This incident must be developed with bhava. The bhava must touch the reader as you narrate the incident. Do not write about bhava; write with bhava. The reader is interested in the bhava itself not about bhava. Note this subtle difference. "

When Nanna played the role of Cleopatra, a European couple saw the play. They became very emotional when they saw Nanna who literally gave life to the role. She came on stage and kissed Nanna. How involved she might have been!

" At times, sakhi becomes Radha. Once, Radha was sitting inside the room. Krishna was waiting for Her outside. Lalitha sakhi came near him and stopped him. 'She is in bhava. You cannot enter now. This is not the time. Go away.' He began to weep to see Her. Then Radha came near Lalitha, held her chin and pleaded with her to allow him to enter. What is this? This is sakhi bhava! It has so many aspects. "

'The sakhis near Mother are not different. They are Her aspects only. She became many and enacted the play.'

'Nanna you invited Radhamahalaxmi amma in Brindavan on her birthday...'

" I don't remember. I forget immediately. I don't recollect after one hour..Yes. I invited her here. She said 'I am waiting for you. We must go near Mother together. I also became a sakhi like you. This happened only by your grace. I am waiting for you.' She wept and fell down. "

When Nanna invoked Radhamahalaxmi amma into Anjani amma's body, she gave a message that she became a sakhi by Nanna's grace and is waiting for his arrival in another dham without going near Radhaji. Whenever Nanna thinks about her selfless love, he becomes emotional.

" I invoke her mostly. Once I said 'though many babas like you may be born, you cannot create a void between us. I will not allow that to happen.' I held her hand and her away saying 'she must not see your face again. That's why she loves me so much. "

'Did she say anything else Nanna?'

'Nanna, you told that She said some works are remaining. After they are completed only..'

" Yes. She said that I cannot from here unless the works are completed. Idol installation ceremony, dhyana yoga saptaha..I must purchase a car and didtribute books all over India. It will take atleast two years. I am not interested to stay beyond that. I am fed up of being in this world. I am restless to go near Mother. "

'Nanna, you told that Mother may keep you on earth even for 150 years. It is Her will.' (I hopefully asked)

" I said that for name sake only. "

'No Nanna, not for name sake. You said it emphatically. In fact you repeated it twice.'

'Yes, Nanna. You said it loud and clear.'

" It is Her will. She may keep me here till then. There is no hinderance for Her. Krishna and other Gods are nowhere before Radha. I am telling you that they are nowhere! She may increase my life span upto 150 years. It is Her will. "

I recalled the lecture in a devotee's (Ramakrishna garu) house in Hyderabad where 'he did not look at anybody as he spoke. He reclined and spoke for one hour looking upwards only.'

Nanna changed the topic and spoke about his song.

" There is sakhi bhava in the song. When the eyes are seeing, why should you mention about the heart? "

'Does sakhi see with the heart, Nanna?'

" Yes. Sakhi never sees with the eyes. One who sees with the eyes is not a sakhi. When I say you are in my heart, it means that I am seeing with my heart. Who is seeing? "

'The heart.'

" That is not explicitly stated; it is implied; it must be understood. The sakhis speak with their heart and see with their heart. They don't don't need these eyes. "

" I must reach You (weeping). That must be sung in a weeping tone. They wipe their tears and weep. You too must weep like that. I discarded poetry because I found nothing in it. The poet knows poetry but not rasa. Mother is so kind. She is beckoning us with so much love. "

Later Nanna narrated an incident in the Second World War.

" A military General joined the hospital as an inpatient. The nurse served her with love and care. She fell in love with the General. The patient insisted that she would take medicine only when it is given by that nurse. The nurse agreed and took care of her. When the General was discharged and ready to leave, she told the nurse, 'I am besotted by you. Where can I go?' She took the nurse to another room, embraced her and kissed her. She shed tears saying 'your love is being wasted. We aspired for something. I am ordinary nurse. I loved you and served you as a sister.' Then she removed her dress. "

'But Nanna, both were women!'

" She fell on her feet and said 'I will marry you. I will serve you. I don't want any husband. I will not love any man. You showed me so much love and affection.' The General said 'I want you too. I will also give up marriage. Your love is so great.' She hugged and kissed the nurse. They both got married. "

" Such bhava should flow from the song. In sakhi cult, sakhi is above sex. Everybody around Radhaji are sakhis. There is no gender in Her world. How did they attain that state? "

'Only because they are above gender.'

" How could they reach that state? "

'Their love is like that.'

" What is the connection between love and sex? "

'There is no connection.'

" This point must be stressed. That is sakhi's nature. Do you understand? You wrote theory but did not show the practical side. This is sister's love. "

" Mother told that there is not a single rasika in the gathering when Suka maharshi narrated Bhagawata. That means Radha is not present where rasikas are not present. Radha was not present in that gathering. What does it imply? "

'There is no rasa tattwa; there is no sakhi bhava.'

" In true sakhi bhava, there is no relation with any man. "

'Nanna, even Gopikas and Krishna did not have such relationship.'

" But they were aware that Krishna is a man. They were conscious that they are women and he is a man. Sakhis are not conscious about gender. They conquered gender. That must be highlighted. Isn't it a mistake to leave out this point? "

'Yes, it is.'

" I am a man. Many women come near me and kiss me. But I am unmoved. I don't want anything. (weeping). I will weep. One girl passed Her degree exam and came near me last week. She hugged me, kissed me and wept. But I was not affected. That love is like that. It is for this reason that Mother is not mentioned in the Bhagawata. "

'Nanna, did the gopikas lose their dehathma (body consciousness)?'

" No. "

'If they did not lose dehathma, how did they come near Krishna?'

" Why not? Krishna is beautiful. He has charisma. His flute, his attraction. His flute is very powerful. "

'Nanna, the Bhagawata states that Krishna is God. To reach God, any living being must lose his body consciousness.'

" That is theory. Don't restrict to theory. You are forgetting the fact that flute has the power of drawing them towards him. That is his power, the power of attraction. Even Narada could not enter Mother's dham without Her permission. "

'Nanna, did Narada have the differentiation of man and woman?'

" Yes. He accepted the presence of a child in his mother's womb. "

'Yes, Leelavathi (Prahlada's mother)..'

" Who has pregnancy; a man or a woman? Though they don't say it aloud, they don't accept at face value. Narada said that a Vaishnava is present in her womb. What does this mean? "

'Nanna, they are aware of such facts by their divine sight.'

" Whatever sight it may be, did he accept that she is a woman or not? "

'Will not the sakhis know such things?'

" They are above gender. They will know; but they will not have such love. That is a peculiar state. They do not know about human being's love. In other words, they have no desire. The affection and love between man and woman is not found there. I mentioned about 11 hurdles; man -woman relationship is one of them. The sakhis are not affected by this at all. Only we human beings have to face it. "

Nanna said that sakhis are above gender. He clearly stated that 'I am Radhasakhi. I am not affected or lured.' Yet he includes himself with us and says that we are influenced by gender. Though we prevent him, he always includes himself with us. Such is the tender love of sakhis!

" The two sisters had so much love. They decided that they did not want relationship with any man. Then what happened? "

'It crossed that bhava; their love went beyond.'

" That is sister love. Understood? You must stress that Mother Radha is beyond gender. There is no gender in the form and formless... "

" She is above gender. That's why She will not take anybody up unless they reach the state above gender. I also wondered that She took me near Her only because I am above gender. Mother's sakhis are above gender. The nurse called the General as sister only because she is above gender. "

'The word sakhi is femiine gender but it is neither male nor female!'

" Gender does not matter there. Mother called Sri Suka 2-3 days before Bhagawata saptaha and said there there is not a single rasika in that gathering. "

" Rasika Mahatmas are above gender. Purushottamdasji wrote about me... "

'Anantha Sri Vibhushitha Sri Radhika pada padma parayana Rasika Siromani Radhika Prasad ji Maharaj'

" Yes, Rasika Siromani. Rasika means one who is above gender. That is what he realised in me. "

Then Nanna narrated an incident that occurred at a wedding in his childhood.

" .The girl realised that I am above gender. The bride was 12 years old. I would put my head in the lap of the groom's mother and sleep. She would fan me with a hand fan. Her son was Principal of Nizam College.. "

Amma then told us about the tragic death of Santharam garu who did great sadhana.

" I prayed to Gyana Prasunamaba for her darshan. She agreed but on the condition that I would take the vow of total austerity. I promised that I would take the vow. She carried me, kissed me and showed me the worlds above. There are many women near her. Most of them... "

Nanna unobtrusively hinted that he is a sakhi in the male form. When I told Nanna that I want to write a book on sakhi's life, he smiled and said it is not so easy. He knows how difficult the task is. That is why he kindly clarified the points in his conversations. While writing 'Mother's Word' for Volume I of 'Rasikacharyuni ananya jeevitham', Anjani amma heard Nanna's voice. His words have been included in the book in Amma's words. 'He is the Rasayogi respected by Andhras; titled Rasika Siromani by the Brindavan Mahatmas; Radhasakhi of Mother; Nanna for devotees who love him and Nannagaru to those address him with respect. It is a very difficult task to write about the life of the Rasikacharya who is viewed with so many bhavas. This is a great boon granted by Nanna to rasamani. He blessed her as a guru, inspired bhavas in her and provided the inner strength to portray these bhavas.' Unless Nanna himself blesses us, it is not possible to write about his life filled with rasa. I recorded all his talks during 2002 and 2003. He was so kind to tell us about his sakhi life and bless us.

" Radhaji came near me and asked me to apply oil to Her. I am a man . How can I apply oil to a woman? She asked me whether I would apply the oil. I said I would and poured oil on my palm. She disappeared. So many incidents like this occurred in my life. "

'Nanna, is it true that there was a sorcerer named Ramudu who would get replies to his questions on a blank paper placed in water? Did he promise to teach you that art if you take the vow of austerity?'

'No, Gyana Prasunamba only told him to take the vow.' Anjani amma said.

" I did not learn those arts. I refused. It is a menial trick. I don't want to learn such arts. Only after I accepted the vow, Gyana Prasunamba kissed me and I had Her darshan. "

'Nanna, which body is present in that world? Is it bhava deha or sookshma deha?'

" It appeared ordinary. I did not understand. She took me there, that's all. "

'What is the body there?', Anjani amma asked again.

" I don't know. "

'It cannot be physical body; it must be astral body.'

'Amma, did Nanna have bhava deha at that time?'

" A devotee's daughter who completed XII STd. came to see me last week. She said that her heart melted when she saw me. She embraced me but I was not affected. I don't need anything. "

'Nanna, don't evade the topic. Tell us what happened when you went with Goddess Gyana Prasunamba.'

" You must ask God. "

'That is not physical body. Is it male or female body in cosmic form?'

" What is your present body? "

'It is physical body.'

" Who is speaking in that body? "

'The living soul, the consciousness.'

" I don't have that consciousness. So is it male or female? "

'Naiva stree na pumaneshu napunsakaha yadrisya sareeramadatte'. Since I am in this body, I am calling myself as a woman. You are evading our questions.'

" Is there male and female in God's creation? "

'No.'

" Do you agree that originally there was no male and female in God's creation? It came midway.. "

'We entered the male and female body.'

" The original creation did not have gender. "

'Nanna, did you attain bhava deha when you darshan of Gyana Prasunamba?'

" I attained bhava deha at a later stage. I lost this body in Venkatagiri. "

'Did you attain bhava deha by thet time?'

" Maybe. Bhava deha does not mean this body which you see externally. It is the inner body. "

'It is being connected; being formed.'

" It was being formed. I took the vow of austerity at that time. That is why I gave my last son the nick name Chanti (youngest) implying that there would be no child after him. "

Thus Nanna spoke about his vow of austerity. From outside, we can only see that he accepted the vow in Gyana Prasunamba's temple. Even before that, at a younger age, Nanna is a Brahmachari in family life. What else can we infer when we hear that Nanna put his head in the lap of a woman and slept, in the presence of so many people and she was absolutely not affected! Only because Nanna was above gender, neither that lady nor anybody witnessing that scene had any other bhava. This is a proven truth.

The entire conversation between Nanna and Anjani amma about his visit to Gyana Prasunamba's visit is for our sake and not because amma is not aware of it. Nanna clearly told that bhava deha developed in him while he was working in Venkatagiri. Again he said it is being formed. However the life of Radasakhi may appear outwardly, he was always shining with the principles of love -

Gunaratham, kamanarahitham, anukshana vardhamanam, avicchinnam, sooksmatharam and anubhavaroopam.
