MESSAGE ON SRI DHYANA

5-1-2002, Guntur Ashram:

Nanna gave a series of talks during 30-12-01 to 8.1.02 on dhyana yoga. He spoke for one week and made everyone do dhyana during 6.1.02 to 8.1.02; this is one of talks in those series.

" Mother asked Krishna to give Her the flute. You may not be aware that the flute belongs to Radha! She held it in Her hand and glanced at it. The flute disappeared and a girl appeared in front of Her. 'You are my sakhi. You must go down to earth' 'Mother, I will not be happy on earth. I can't go there. What sin did I commit?' 'Why are you sending away from You' 'It is not like that. I want to show what uplifting of human beings really means. You are my instrument to accomplish this task. You will be remembered in all worlds at all times. Why do you fear? I will be with you always.' All the sakhis gave aarthi and bid farewell to Venu (flute) sakhi. She came down to earth as Hitaharivamsa. The flute always chants 'Radhe Radhe' it does not know any other tattwa. It distributes eternal Radha's grace. No wonder Hitaharivamsaji said 'I know the inner mind of Radhaji. I have seen the intimacy of Radha and Krishna.' Such a great sakhi came down to earth! As a little boy, he was sleeping in the cradle and his maternal uncle was swinging it. A lightening appeared suddenly and transformed into a sound which formed 270 verses. These verses are known as Sri Radhasudhanidhi-the wealth of nectar-Radha. This is the most authoritative book on Radhaji. It contains many of Her secrets. "

" We all are born due to karma. It is very difficult to get freed from karma. It may take many birth and death cycles. Such a jeeva who is trapped in the clutches of karma must be uplifted. You must understand how Mother plans to do so. One of the verses in Radhasudhanidhi specifically mentions that whoever does dhyana on Radha's name incessantly; who does dhyana by contemplating on Her; his karma will be dissolved unnoticed even by him. The Vedas said 'Karmanam bhogatho nasyeth' - You shed your karmas by experiencing them. Unless you bear the consequences of your karma, they cannot be destroyed. However, the greatest charm of Mother's worship is that you need not experience your karmas. They will be destroyed without your realization. Your duty is only to do dhyana and contemplate on Her. Full stop. Then the karma goddess will descend and take away your karmas. Karma is invisible to human eye. "

'Kaisoradbhuta .. namah'

" Your dhyana should be incessant and uninterrupted (I will teach you how to do such dhyana). After lectures for 6 days, you must do dhyana day and night. Dhyana is our subject; our only subject! The karmas of the jeeva who does such incessant dhyana will automatically get dissolved. "

" Normally we all give up worldly dharmas and adopt spiritual dharmas. It is essential, no doubt. As Lord said 'Sarvadharman parityajya' - give up all other dharmas but this verse says that the jeeva will not be interested even in spiritual dharmas. Surprisingly, this dhyana will dissolve the remaining karma. How wonderful! How great! When jeeva reaches such a state, his life moves in an amazing manner. I salute such Mahatmas. Such a life can be attained only by worshipping Mother- the Rasamayi. Many rishis and devoted wives faced karma. 'Karmanam bhogatho nasyeth' karma is dissolved only when you experience it. There is no escape. Karma is so tough. Muslims call it fate (naseeb), we call it karma. The whole world believes that jeeva must face karma. It is invisible and troublesome; so difficult to experience but Hitaharivamsaji says in this verse that whoever does incessant, uninterrupted dhyana on Mother, surprisingly their karmas will vanish. "

" The purpose of Mother's appearance in this world is not to tell the jeeva to face his karma. If he conducts his life in the right manner, She will remove his karmas. This is a proven fact! My life is glaring witness for this truth. While I was working as DEO, I was travelling by train from Bandar to Anantapur, enroute Guntur. Around 30-40 devotees came to Guntur station to meet me. Hanumayamma was weeping and insisted that I should get down in Guntur. Everybody was surprised that she stopped my journey midway. Anyway, I got down and accompanied them to the ashram. Everything seemed normal. I wondered 'Why did I come here?' There is no festive occasion or celebration here? Then why did she weep like that?' I did not question her anything and remained silent. The next morning, after bath, they asked me to speak about Mother. When I spoke a few words, a severe headache began followed by body aches. By night, my suffering was unbearable. By midnight, I went into coma. Such a strange experience! As per divine instructions, no doctor was called. The life of one who surrenders to Mother is indeed wonderful and unique. Everybody was weeping; nobody knew what to do .. "

Nanna remained silent for some time. Suddenly he spoke again.

" While speaking about Mother, sometimes I go into a drowsy trance for a few minutes. Mother's life is invisible. She has no form or name. You must understand the leela of the formless and nameless divine power. 'Karmanam bhogatho nasyeth' is the general principle for jeevas but it is not so near Mother. That night, at around 2.30 a.m., a divine Goddess came down and said 'Nannagaru's life span is completed. He must leave this world soon. If you want him to live, you must give your life span. I will link it to his and prolong his longetivity. Then he will survive' none of the relatives and friends came forward. Yet I lived beyond 3 a.m. How did this happen? According to karma, my life must end at 3 a.m. Then with whose life span am I surviving today? We can't even imagine! She did not tell how long I would live. This incident happened in my 52nd year. Today I am 102 years old. Till now, nobody said that they gave their life span to me. The invisible Goddess only knows this secret. I will remain as long as She decides so. The karma Goddesses are powerful. The jeeva must leave the world in the next second according to their instructions. We are living in such a world ruled by karma. We plan many things but of no use. Nothing is in your hands. "

Describing another verse from Sri Radhasudhanidhi

'Vaidagdhya sindhu .' Nanna said:

" This verse describes seven seas. Mother represents each of them' (She is an expert in everything. She is the climax in all matters)'. There is nothing that She does not know. "

" She is the source of love. Love is present in all directions. The sea of love is Mother. The love we show is for ourselves but Mother showers Her love on flowers and buds also. A rose bud weeps for Mother 'I am not grown up. That is why I am not fit to serve You.' We are those buds. There are many buds among us. We do not know how we can server Her. Mother is hinting to the ignorant jeeva that he also is like that tender bud. "

'Mother is the source of affection, infinite grace, flow of divine nectar. She is the great ocean who exhibits loving leelas'.

" None other than Mother is a combination of all the seven oceans. You may find one in somebody or two but not all. Each aspect is a vast ocean. No wonder Brahma said 'I cannot describe so many oceans (aspects)'. The buds and flowers speak; the trees shed tears of joy. Everybody thought it was raining! Well, you can't even imagine. That life is strange and wonderful. This world is filled with many strange qualities. It is great that all the seven unique qualities are concentrated in a single place. We may be able to describe one or two great qualities about a person but never does it happen that all qualities are present in a single entity; that is Mother! "

" Chaitanya charitamrutham is a book on the life of chaitanya mahaprabhu. The Adileela of the book consists of the verse where in Krishna praises Radha. 'I give happiness to the three worlds. Radhaji provides happiness to me' Radhaji has the divine quality of providing happiness to the giver of happiness! Is it an ordinary matter to give happiness to such a Krishna? That is my life. Enough. "

Nanna often paused for a few moments while speaking about Radhaji or while doing Radha dhyana. We would watch him as he closed his eyes and remained in silence. He explained this state saying that he goes into a drowsy trance while speaking about Mother. We often see this state in kids when they are lost in their bhava of happiness. Probably Nanna who moves in Sri Radha's bhava kingdom also experiences the intensity of that sweetness and goes into a trance! Speaking about the incident which prolonged his life span he said 'the life of one who surrender to Mother is indeed strange' Such a Nanna spoke about Sri Radha's divine life and incessant Radha dhyana throughout his life said 'this is my life' In one phrase, he clarified how his life is filled with rasa!

Then Nanna spoke about Hitaharivamsa's life.

" Radhaji's flute came down as Hitaharivamsa. He grew up, became a great person and approached a guru. According to the rules of that mutt, everyone must do service daily. On ekadasi day, nobody must take food. On one ekadasi, while Hitaharivamsa was serving Her, he stretched out his hand and a betel leaf fell in his hands from above. He accepted it as Mother's blessing and ate it. When he went near his guru, he asked why he ate betel leaf that day. 'Did you forget that today is ekadasi?' 'I ate the betel leaf because Mother, the sovereign gave it to me. Mother is beyond ekadasi, beyond time!' "

" That's it. There is no time in Mother's kingdom. Listen carefully. This is the hint given by Her. If we want to have Her darshan, we don't need to think about time or karma. There is neither time nor karma in Her world. "

" Hitaharivamsa lived in a small garden in Brindavan. I visited that place. Anyone can meet him in that garden. He described how jeeva lost his karma. He also describes how jeeva became heinous due to his karma. Naravahana was a dacoit who committed heinous crimes. He caused many children and women to become orphans. He declared that he was the emperor of Brindavan and not Radha-Krishna. One day, he decided 'I heard that one person is doing bhajans here. He tells something to everyone who goes near him. Today, I will kill him.' That is the effect of his karma. Mother told Krishna that She would intervene and show Krishna how welfare of humanity can be established. Naravahana went to Hitaharivamsa and asked many questions. 'My son, there are many worlds above this world. Do you want to see the power that exists in the higher world? Then you will realise how much truth is present in this world. I will show you.' He used his powers and granted Naravahana that vision. He looked up and closed his eyes. He attained inward vision and started weeping. 'I saw the wonders of the higher world. It is such an infinite world! I committed so many sins here.' "

" Mother has the power to remind jeeva of the sins he committed. If She uses that power, we cannot survive. Maya suppresses our sins that is why, we feel that we are good individuals but if jeeva sees his sins, he cannot live for a second also. While maya conceals your sins, Mother can use Her power and reveal them! "

" 'Naravahana, my son. Why are you weeping?' 'I committed so many sins. I am the cause for many women to live as widows and children as orphans. I can hear the women and children weeping. I can hear their cries loud and in unison. I have no wish to live. It is better to end my life. Is there any solution for me?' "

" 'Narada went near Valmiki when he was a dacoit and asked 'I will give you all this gold. You killed so many people. Find out if your wife will share a part of your sins' she said 'I am not connected to his sins.' Due to divine power from within, he recalled all the sins and all the murders made by him. 'I can't live anymore. I committed such grave sins. What should I do?' 'Sit here and do penance'. He did penance and became Valmiki maharshi. You also will attain such a state.' "

" Every jeeva will have a glimpse of all the incidents in his life a moment before his death. He becomes sad and weeps. When Hitaharivamsa explained jeeva's qualities to Naravahana, he tore off his clothes, retreated into the forest and sat under a tree to do penance. I went to that place where he did penance, I went near that tree. What happened to his opulence, his pride, his show, his pomp? He tore off his clothes and sat for penance like an ordinary man. He weeps for every word and shows utmost humility! He went into mahasamadhi. That's all. He silently fell. Even till date, his life is depicted in Rasa. Naravahana's life is very great. We cannot describe how he wept when he repented for his sins. The audience all weep along with him while watching the Rasa. "

" Well, Mother did not touch him, kill him or use any weapons. Yet, how did all his sins come on top? How did he realise that he was a sinner? That is a great yogic state. Many Mahatmas, in such a yogic state, repent for their sins and weep. Some of them even end their life. No wonder he said 'You cannot atone for your sins. You cannot live for that number of years as you committed sins.' The jeeva weeps how to atone for his sins. This sorrow itself is a great thing! "

" In one of the shakespeare's plays, Cleopatra, the queen repents 'I will not live. I did mistakes. I will punish myself'. She embraced a venomous snake from Africa and died of snake bite. In the last few moments of his life, the sinner weeps and repents for his acts. That's what queen Cleopatra did. That is life! The Rasika Mahatmas say 'Think of Mother with joy. Your karmas will vanish gradually without your notice.' Therefore, a divine power exists. I should have left this world 40-50 years ago but She gave me this body which I need not give up to be in Her world. How is the body still present? My karmas have vanished. I know that karma leaves the jeeva. I have seen that the beggar became a millionaire when his karmas left him. Mother showed us many strange incidents like this. "

" We must do incessant dhyana, uninterrupted dhyana without any gap. How is this possible? I will tell you about it later. Incessant dhyana is a great tapasya. You need not give up your family or job or lectures. Along with your regular, routine life, your dhyana must continue. "

Nanna narrated how Gulab Baba surrendered his life to Mother.

" He offered his music and his daughter's dance to Her. When his daughter got married and left, there was a gap in Her service. He heard a heavenly voice 'One who does not serve Mother need not live in this world.' He thought 'I will not live. I am not able to serve Her. I do not deserve to live.' Jeeva dies in such a pitiable state, his karma will certainly follow him. Thinking that, 'Jeeva will go to great and pure worlds when he contemplates on God at the time of death. The time of his death has approached. He begs for his food and comes here to serve Me'. The benevolent Mother came in the form of Gulab Baba's daughter. He was playing the sitar while She danced. It was as if She beckoned him. 'See me in the form of his dance. You came to me in your last moments. You will go to Brindavan.' Watching Her dance, he suddenly shouted 'Mother! Radhe! Radhe!' and breathed his last. His tomb is present even today. People say that his sitar music can be heard sometimes. They say that he weeps and sings Her songs even now. "

" I saw many people at their last breath. They are in a pitiable state. One who loses his karma only can attain the mesmerised state to realise Her divine tattwa. Mother is granting this boon to many people. It is not easy to remove karma. 'Buddhi Karmanusarini' The karma guides the mind. That is how King Parikshith threw a snake around sage's neck and brought karma upon himself. He could not escape from karma; it is not so easy. Well, he had Lord Krishna's darshan when he was still in his mother's womb. Yet he could not avoid karma; he had to face it and experience it. Karma is so powerful. We cannot remove it even for a split second. Many people faced the hurdle of karma including sage Vedavyasa and King Parikshith. No wonder, jeeva is bound to karma. "

" We must do uninterrupted penance. Without such incessant dhyana, karma cannot be removed. One must establish the path of penance. Mother's service is indeed great! I gave you a hint how to serve Her! "

" Narrating the story of the Rajasthani lad, "He is a family man, weeping profusely for his dead wife named Kishori. How did a person weeping for his wife go to the higher worlds? Is it possible? 'His wife's name is Kishori but I am present in the name Kishori. He did not think of Me but he will think now' Mother gave him the bhava. Then he wept 'Mother, Kishori' and fell. "

" So, whatever name may be present in our heart, Mother is showing the special significance of the divine name. His wife named Kishori is present in his heart but Mother says 'I am present in the name Kishori'. Even in the little boy Rehman's life, we find that somebody told him Mother's name 'Shyama Shyama'. With Shyama nama, he went to the higher worlds. Mother has many names. Whatever name you will chant you will attain a glow which is beyond name and form. However both name and form are not good. Only when you give up both of them, you will reach the upper dham. The Vedas say 'Avyaktho vyakthatparah'. The entire universe is made up of three dhams. The three steps are Vyaktha, Avyaktha and Para, being the highest. Manifested; unmanisfested which is beyond the manifested and Para which is beyond the unmanifested. We must go beyond the unmanisfested. It is very difficult. Mother takes us to that dham in an amazing manner. We cannot reach there on our own. That is why, Mother came here. 'I will take the jeeva to My Para dham'. "

" I will tell you about dhyana which is powerful & sweet and how you must surrender to Her in detail. First, you must understand who Mother is! She is incredible, incomparable and proficient. She showed Her path to someone as great as Krishna. 'Yours is chakra marg; Mine is venu marg'. (Yours is the path of punishment, Mine is the path of love). She is making us follow the venu marg. It is very great. Ours is not chakra marg. Just as the flute (venu) continuously chants 'Radhe Radhe', we also must follow that path. We must never give up contemplation of Mother. Whatever we do, whether we sit or stand; we must always maintain the thought that 'Mother is with me' When She is with you, why do you need to chant Her name? Mother told once that 'You cannot see me. Even Brahma and other Gods cannot see Me. I must see you' that is why, when you sit for dhyana, your dhyana is only the bhava that 'Mother is watching me. I am in Her sight'. That is your dhyana. You don't need any name! She will understand. As soon as you sit down, She will know that you are going to do dhyana. Our dhyana is unique. It has no name or form. Just the bhava that 'Mother is watching me'. "

" One day, I got the thought that dhyana is very important in India; we must construct a building to do dhyana. The estimated expenditure would be Rupees 30-40 lakhs and I did not have a penny! Yet my hope was strong. Then only I realised whether we are holding Mother or Mother is holding us. None of you can hold Mother; it is not possible. Mother only must hold us. We cannot see Mother; She only must see us. Let me reveal a secret. While I am speaking to you, I have the feeling till the end that 'Mother is with me' When that feeling becomes intense, it is difficult to control ourself. Sometimes, I cannot even continue a lecture. You must practice to maintain the thought that 'Mother is watching me'. Though I was serving as DEO, nobody around me could realise that my life span was nearing the end. Yet Mother, who is somewhere, knew it and stopped it. The next morning, I woke up in tejomandal (aura) calling out to Mother. I did not lose my life; I was alive. "

" Recently I asked Mother 'Why are you retaining me in this world still .' 'Some more works are to be done by you' we are all Her instruments. We are doing incessant dhyana on Her. I am telling you the same. This is my life. "

" Incessant Radha bhava dhyana only is Nanna's life. Incessant Radha dhyana is his message to human beings. His wish is that we all must move in the path of love shown by Her. He said that aura is created by dhyana which is beyond name and form. Nanna's divine form is the live evidence for this fact. Nanna is continuously striving that we must go beyond manifested and unmanisfested planes and reach Mother's dham, Para. 'Without continuous penance, karma cannot be removed.' He showed us how to do such penance by narrating the lines of Rasika Mahatmas and also through his exemplary life. Having seen the pitiable state of many jeevas at the time of death, he stated that karma is very powerful. There is no other way to escape from karma except uninterrupted dhyana. "

" Sri Radha, who is uplifting jeevas in Her venu marg only through love, without even touching them, must be our deity of worship. We must do Sri Radha dhyana continuously which will remove all our karmas. Thereafter, we must reach Mother's kingdom where there is neither time nor karma. This is Nanna's goal. "

Nanna told us to link everything in the world with Mother and see only through Her. This is possible only through incessant Radha dhyana. No wonder, Nanna said 'Dhyana is the subject. Dhyana is the message.'

This is the message given by our Nanna, who is always eager to bless his devotees - Sri Dhyana!
